Perform at Choochokam 2015
Choochokam Arts has celebrated the creation and performance of original art, both visual art and musical performances, for 39 years, and in 2015 will be really ramping up the music for our 40th Anniversary celebration!
As such, all applications for entertainment are juried and must be original. Musical performers must own rights to all works to be performed, this is strictly enforced–cover bands are not eligible to apply. The festival boasts 3 stages each with a different sound:
- Main Stage is reserved for larger “plugged-in” bands in a variety of genres including rock, pop, country, jazz, world, reggae, and blues to name a few.
- Useless Bay Coffee Company Pavilion highlights solo artists, singer/songwriters, trios, up to quartets highlighting a variety of acoustic music including bluegrass, folk, country, world and celtic genres.
- Kids Zone hosts activities and performances for kids of all ages, with our partners, Whidbey Children’s Theater.
Choochokam Arts chooses bands from a variety of genres, both established and up-and-coming. Applicants are judged on a variety of criteria, including but not limited to: genre, size, price, technical ability, originality and creativity. While Widbey Island based performers are given priority, musicians from the Northwest region including, WA, OR, Northern California and Vancouver, BC, are encourage to apply. 
Choochokam Arts has partnered with SonicBids for seven years and has enjoyed the opportunity to use this service as a way to cross promote the festival, as well as, to promote the bands that are chosen by committee to play on one of the festival’s three stages. We prefer entertainers use the SonicBids application process as it streamlines the jury and selection process; however, PDF applications are also available via the download link below. You must provide samples of your music that accurately represents your LIVE performance sound not just studio produced sound. MP3 files are preferred to physical CDs. If you send a CD–REMOVE the shrink wrap! Sonicbids offers artists a 14-day free membership so if you’re not already a member, it doesn’t cost you extra in order to apply via the Sonicbids platform.
